ABOUT ME
Vasthy {VAH-stee} - rhymes with Frosty ☃️ - is the daughter of Haitian immigrants and was raised in Hoover, Alabama. Heavily involved on the dance team since high school, Vasthy’s first big break was dancing back-up for Michael Jackson at Madison Square Garden. Vasthy furthered her musical theatre education and training at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City. Soon after her time at AMDA, she landed her first national tour, Ragtime. Vasthy went on to make her Broadway debut as a Swing in the original Broadway cast of Good Vibrations. Other Broadway credits include: The Prom, The SpongeBob SquarePants Musical, Rocky the Musical, Soul Doctor, Ghost the Musical, Mary Poppins, and Hot Feet. She can be seen in The Prom Movie on Netflix and SpongeBob SquarePants the Musical television special on Paramount+. Vasthy made her debut as a Broadway producer for the Drama Desk Award winning play, Pass Over.
Vasthy has originated every Broadway musical she has ever been in and has earned the honor of wearing The Legacy Robe (an award for the cast member with the most Broadway ensemble credits) twice, in both Soul Doctor & The Prom. To commemorate her successes, LaDuca Shoes designed a limited edition character shoe named after her: The Vasthy - a silver & pink heel hand picked by Ms. Mompoint.

Vasthy has choreographed on set for several Hollywood actors such as Daniel Radcliffe, Nicole Kidman, Meryl Streep, James Corden, and Nicole Beyer. She choreographed the film Cursed Friends on Comedy Central, along with an episode of Miracle Workers on TBS. Vasthy served as choreographer for the film WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story on Roku which received 8 EMMY® nominations.
During the height of the pandemic, Vasthy launched a virtual children’s entertainment business, Vasthy & Friends, which created virtual opportunities for kids and caregivers across America bringing joy and creativity through music. In 2022, Vasthy & Friends released an original children’s music album called: “Sing, Dance, Play” - featuring stars such as Lilias White & Ethan Slater - now available on all music streaming platforms.
When Vasthy’s not writing her own music or covering her favorite folk songs, you can hear her as one of The Damselles in the soul cover band lead by SpongeBob himself: Tom Kenny & the High Seas. Vasthy performed alongside Tom Kenny & the High Seas for the 2023 Annie Awards in LA.
Known to fully commit to the bit, Vasthy continues to hone her sketch comedy skills and is under the Saturday Night Live Scholarship program. Vasthy was featured in the CBS Comedy Showcase in 2019. She recently produced a live variety show at Forget About Spaghetti Festival at The Elysian Theatre in Los Angeles. Vasthy is now a member of Quick and Funny Musicals at Upright Citizens Brigade and also with Sunday Best, an improv troupe.
Vasthy currently resides in Los Angeles, but continues to work in New York City and at theatres and schools across the world.
